Volunteers are not protected by employment law and therefore managing volunteers is not the same as managing paid staff. This session will look at the protection that volunteers do have and the strategies needed to ensure good practice for both the volunteer and the organisation. Areas covered will include:
- volunteer roles and the law
- contract and the use of contractual language
- intellectual property rights
- the Equality Act
- the position of the volunteer manager regarding Duty of Care
- data Protection
