These are our current projects:

Best Practice Plus

Best Practice Plus supports and develops quality volunteer management practices in Camden. Opportunities to learn about planning, running and sustaining great volunteer projects are offered through one-to-one meetings, training sessions, volunteer forums and our monthly e-bulletin. Our aim is to help organisations deliver quality volunteer programmes that meet organisation’s needs and offer excellent volunteering experiences to those who take part.

To book a one-to-one appointment please contact Shafia by email or phone 020 7424 9990.
For details of our next volunteer managers’ forum please see our Events section.

Matchmaking

Our matching service is the link between people who want to volunteer and organisations looking for volunteers, and helps volunteering happen in Camden. People volunteer for all sorts of reasons, and many organisations wouldn’t be able to do what they do without volunteers.

We know there’s no one size fits all when it comes to volunteering, which is why we encourage our members to offer volunteering roles in all shapes and sizes. And also why we offer a number of different ways for people to find their perfect match, from monthly volunteering fairs to one-to-one confidential appointments to searching online whenever and wherever is best for you.

We aim to reach all parts of the borough by delivering talks and presentations, hosting and attending events across Camden. If you would like to invite us to your event, please contact Sheila by email.

We also have a team of matchmakers who are ready to answer any questions and provide extra support to people to help you get started.

Your first port of call, is to search online for local volunteering roles on our website – which helpfully gives you direct access to the organisations recruiting volunteers. Or, come and see us in person at one of our volunteering fairs.

Can’t find what you want? You could expand your search by visiting the Team London or Semble Camden websites.

Have a skill to share with non-profit organisations in Camden? Check out Furlough Go and Time to Spare which allow you to do just that.

Team UP (Employer-Supported Volunteering)

Want to involve employee volunteers in what you do?

Good news! We have a project called Team UP which can help you do just that.

Let’s face it. Getting in touch with businesses to support what you do can take more time than it’s worth. And that’s where Team UP comes in (to save the day!).

We have a staff member dedicated to making those connections, arranging meetings, and making sure the volunteering on the day(s) – goes well.

Interested? Contact Raquel by email or phone 020 7424 9990.

CAMERA Emergency Response and Recovery Team

Could you help in Camden or Hammersmith & Fulham in the event of an emergency?

A new and innovative emergency response and recovery volunteer team has launched in the London Boroughs of Camden and Hammersmith & Fulham, which will enable local people, businesses and organisations with relevant skills, experience and donations of items and space to be able to help in a time of an emergency.

We are now looking for registrations of interest, or ideas about additional volunteering roles, skills, premises or goods that would be useful in the event of an emergency. And you can do that quickly and easily via this short questionnaire on Survey Monkey will take about five minutes to complete.

If you have any questions about this new project or want to know more before expressing an interest, please email us on camera@volunteercentrecamden.org.uk.
