Well, hello there! We have rounded up a number of Summer 2025 volunteering roles in Camden.

These are roles that you can take part in over the summer (and some will continue into the Autumn and beyond). They are a mixture of events and everything else that’s quick and easy to get started with. Check back for regular updates…

One Off Roles

Mill Lane Garden Centre (a social enterprise based in West Hampstead) is looking for a variety of volunteers for their Environmental Action Day on Thursday 17th July, 10am-3pm. They need help with weeding, litter picking, waste removal and mending broken items. Check out all of the details on Instagram.

Citizen Science with The Big Butterfly Count at Castlehaven Community Association until 10th August. This is what they say about this volunteering opportunity:

HEATH HANDS

🌿 Now the summer holidays are here, why not join @heath_hands for a fun and meaningful family activity?

Join HH at Hampstead Heath for a hands-on session of litter picking or gardening! 🧤🌼 It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors, teach kids about caring for nature, and help keep our beautiful green spaces thriving.

🗓️ Litter picking: 9am on Mondays including: 28 Jul, 4 Aug, 11 Aug, 18 Aug. Also Tues 26 Aug.
🗓️ Gardening drop-in: 4pm on Wednesdays including: 30 Jul. 6 Aug, 13 Aug, 20 Aug, 27 Aug and Saturday 2 and 16 Aug at 2pm

DOORSTEP LIBRARY

Foster a love of reading for children from disadvantaged backgrounds with Doorstep Library. They say: 

We have volunteering opportunities available in King’s Cross (Somers Town) and Euston. Choose to volunteer on a Monday or Thursday between 4:30pm to 7pm in a regular weekly role, a semi-regular role or a flexible stand-in role.

NCT

NCT is looking for Walk and Talk Volunteers throughout the summer and beyond. They say:

At NCT, we’re dedicated to helping parents feel confident, connected, and safe as they embark on their parenting journey. Our local groups and activities are the heart of what we do, and our Walk & Talk sessions are an easy and accessible way to bring parents together. They’re a fantastic opportunity for parents to get active, meet others, and have someone to talk to in a relaxed and supportive environment.
