Everything you wanted to know about the changes to DBS for Volunteer Managers, online on Tuesday 15th September, 12-2pm. Book your free place here on Eventbrite.
+ Essential update for all volunteer managers delivered on Zoom with Kiran Rehal +
Kiran Rehal is the DBS Regional Outreach Adviser for Greater London and a point of contact for any enquiries about DBS. She will be delivering a lunch and learn to explain the purpose of the DBS, the changes that will come in this Autumn and the part DBS plays a part in safer recruitment.
Kiran says, ‘From 1st September, the legislation will be amended so that sufficient supervision by someone else in regulated activity with children is no longer a factor when determining whether certain activities (such as teaching, training, instruction, care or supervision) are regulated activity with children.
Where the activity itself and the frequency (period condition) are met, the role will be in regulated activity with children, regardless of whether the person is deemed sufficiently supervised or not. Roles in regulated activity with children are eligible for an enhanced DBS with children’s barred list check.’
For more information about this please see: Change to the definition of regulated activity with children from 1 September 2026 – GOV.UK
This 60-minute lunch and learn will cover:
- The changes to DBS checks which will take place from 1st September 2026 and how they will impact on involving volunteers
- A chance for you to ask any questions that you may have
Come along to meet your local DBS Regional Outreach Advisor and learn more about how we can work together to help make recruitment safer.
We look forward to seeing you there! 🙂
