This event will bring together mutual aid groups from across London to find out the issues that are important to you now.

About this event

Join us at our Mutual Aid Plus Forum where we will discuss all things mutual aid. The topics will be varied, and can be anything related to mutual aid groups – and can be decided by you on the day. This event is open to mutual aid groups from across London.

A bit about Mutual Aid Plus:

Mutual Aid Plus offers support and brings together London mutual aid and hyperlocal community groups. Through Networking, sharing experience and resources, or training and 1-1 support where requested, we look to enable groups to move from pandemic response delivery, through London’s recovery period. Should you wish to partner up, disband or formally constitute your group or whatever your next steps may be, we aim to help. The sessions are open to any Not for Profit or Covid-19 Mutual Aid Local Groups, or other small groups of people operating independently in communities to support vulnerable people in their local area through the outbreak.

For this forum, we will:

  • Ask you to think about some real life issues in your organisation and bring them with you so we can look at what you would need to do next
  • Look at some of the underlying causes of difficulties, and consider strategies to prevent them
  • Find out how the Greater London Authority’s London Strategic Volunteering Group can help you and how you can be involved
  • Help design a London-wide legacy for Mutual Aid support

You will also meet (and network with) other mutual aid groups at this event.

The format of this event is flexible and depends on the number of groups attending. It may also involve breakout rooms if this is what you would like.

Timetable:

5.30-5.40pm Welcome / intros / ‘post-it’ topics

5.40-6.30pm Explore issues that are important to your group and what you would need to progress on to the next steps

6.30-7pm Stick around for networking or to chat to us

Please note: The timetable is dependent on the number of attendees and is a rough guide of what is happening, and when.
