Launching new funding for Camden’s Voluntary and Community Sector

We recognise the key role of the sector in making a difference to Camden residents and responding to current community challenges more quickly than local authorities can. We can’t reach everyone we would like to- which is why we work closely with our partners and the voluntary sector to help reach communities.

In February 2023 Camden Council agreed a new 7 year, annual £4m grants programme – the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Investment Programme (2024-2031). In 2024 Camden Launched the Community Partner Fund and We Make Camden Project Funds- long-term unrestricted funding to organisations deeply embedded in Camden communities and contributing to the Camden Missions. Other funding programmes – The Cohesion Fund and Borough of Sanctuary Grants – have followed. The VCS investment programme includes a range of funds, to support organisational resilience and direct community impact and is designed to reach the different people, places and organisations that call Camden home.

We are excited to announce the following funding opportunities as part of this programme:

*New* Organisational Development Fund

Launching today, The Organisational Development Fund is a response to the current challenges facing the VCS. As an investment into organisational development, the fund is intended to support organisations to become more resilient, sustainable and adaptable, recognising the vital role they play in supporting residents, tackling inequality and building community strength.

The fund has two aims, applications will need to address at least one of them:

Sustainability: To help VCS organisations address key risks – stabilising in the short term and putting them on a path to viability in the long term

Adaptability: To enable VCS organisations to adapt and innovate in response to internal and external changes, challenges and pressures

Grants of up to £10,000 are available.

The Organisational Development Fund launches for applications on 9th March 2026.

There is no deadline for applications, the fund welcomes applications on a rolling basis. These will be reviewed during a monthly panel, held at the start of each month.
