Volunteer Management Training: Recruiting and Supporting Volunteers @ Clean Break Theatre Company
Feb 11 @ 9:30 am – 1:00 pm

Studio 4 at Clean Break

Safeguarding procedures and DBS legislation will be covered in depth at this training workshop, as well as good practice around retaining and motivating volunteers. We will also be focusing on marketing your volunteering roles to help you attract the right volunteers with the right skills.

With a range of learning techniques including group discussions, and individual activities, we will focus on working with young people as volunteers, looking at all the benefits that young people can bring to your organisation, such as increased funding, but learning best practice and techniques that cover volunteers of all ages.

We will look at the barriers that prevent people from volunteering and how to overcome them, using the right words to attract energetic and engaged volunteers, how to keep good volunteers, and all the law and regulations around child protection and safeguarding.

Quotes from previous training sessions:

‘Very informative/ interactive session that was engaging from beginning to end.’

‘[It’s] Given me confidence and the tools to communicate importance of proper volunteer project management to rest of organisation.’

‘I feel the training can be applied to all sorts of management – not just volunteers.’

‘Great opportunity to network with other organisations and discuss ways to work together in partnership’

‘Really impressed with the training – definitely got me thinking! Thank you!’

Influencing Up Training for Volunteer Coordinators
Feb 19 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Influencing Up Training for Volunteer Coordinators

People with responsibility for coordinating volunteers repeatedly tell us that they would like to have more influence within their organisation. This course will include hints and tips to do just that.

The session will include a panel discussion including three Chief Executives:

  • Jan Tallis (School Home Support, brings the perspective of a national organisation CEO)
  • Gary Jones (Age UK Camden, a successful and well regarded local organisation who involve many volunteers in a wide variety of roles )
  • Alexis Keir (Elfrida Rathbone, a local organisation who have done a huge amount in recent years to support and develop volunteering)

All three CEOs will be talking about what influences them, and answering your questions. As part of the session you will prepare your next steps to promote your volunteer project, and develop a better understanding of what does and doesn’t get the attention of senior leaders. You can’t really afford to miss it. :)

Volunteer Centre Camden is subsidising places on this course for Camden organisations.

Non Camden organisations £59+booking fee

Book your place via Eventbrite here.

We look forward to seeing you there!
