Volunteer to be part of the Night of the 10,000m PBs athletics event on Saturday 19th May 2018.
This is what the organisers say about the event:
‘Established in 2013 with the goals of improving British racing standards and making 10,000m aspirational.
Race atmosphere was seen as pivotal to assisting performance and therefore enhancing it became the mission.
Over the years the atmosphere developed as spectators took ownership of #Lane3BeerNCheer ethos, circus entertainment,‘lactic tunnels of love’, a home straight pedestrian bridge, infield spectating, live music, back straight DJ and our annual Legends Seminar.
The event has incorporated the British Championships since 2014, it was the Team GB 2016 Rio Olympic trials, 2017 London World Championship trials and in 2018 it integrates the European Cup.
Whilst Highgate Harriers host the event it is belongs to our athletics community.’
This event is powered by volunteers. If you’re good with people and thrive in an energetic but busy atmosphere, this might be the opportunity for you! They are looking for stewards to help support the event and add to the excitement.
The kind of support needed on the day will be:
• Meeting and greeting members of the public and participants.
• Marshalling the running track
• Signposting members of the public. E.g. to the registration desk, toilets, etc.
• Supporting staff with crowd control duties
• Assisting with setting up and packing away equipment and any leftover rubbish.
• Handing out leaflets
