Oxjam is the UK’s largest grassroots music festival – and now you have the chance to run one of their events as they seek out this year’s Festival Managers.
|Oxjam is a community festival run by you, for you. It’s made up of all your favourite musicians, at your favourite independent venues and gig spaces, playing in celebration of everything you love about your local music scene – oh, and all the money raised goes to fighting poverty around the world. Now that’s something we can all get behind.|
As an Oxjam Festival Manager, you’ll be organising your own music festival in October 2019 and providing a platform for up-and-coming musical talent. You’ll also be uniting music fans across your city and raising money to fight poverty and inequality worldwide.
Oxjam will give you all the training and advice you need, supporting you along the way to ensure you pull off your own amazing music festival.
To write your name into Oxfam’s rich musical history, you’ll just need to take that first step and start your application below. What are you waiting for? FIND OUT MORE ON THE OXJAM WEBSITE.
This is What Previous Festival Managers Said About Their Volunteering
“Volunteering as a Festival Manager was one of the best things I’ve ever done. It was great to learn about how music events run, from booking acts to on-the-day management and everything in between. I don’t think anything will beat the feeling of accomplishment, knowing that we had done it, and that we had raised over £2,500 for Oxfam.”
– Sam Dewey, Oxjam Peckham
“As an Oxjam Festival Manager you will learn a lot of skills, in areas you won’t even realise until the year is over. It’s a great way to get involved with your local music scene if that’s what you’re looking to do, and it’s a lot of fun. You will get to meet some great people and you get to do it all whilst raising money for a great cause! It will be tough at times – but it wouldn’t be so rewarding in the end if you didn’t have some challenges to overcome throughout the journey.” – Stephen Ferrell, Oxjam Newcastle
“Oxjam is great for bringing people together. As a Festival Manager it brought me together with venue owners, musicians, photographers, media, and all sorts of other local creative and community focused individuals, which is great personally, and becomes even more rewarding when, working with these people, you can bring audiences together too.” – Torin Johansen, Oxjam Salisbury
