Well, hello there! Local Camden organisations have been busy creating and adapting their services to respond to the needs of local residents throughout the COVID-19 lockdown. As the lockdown eases, these are a few of the local volunteering roles that you can get involved in now. Keep checking back for updates!
Fitzrovia Youth in Action and Bengali Workers Association have been working together over the last few months to provide hot meals to vulnerable people living near The Surma Centre, NW1. They need drivers, cyclists and people who can deliver on foot. Details in the flyer below. |

West Euston Partnership (WEP) brings together key organisations and community groups in the Regent’s Park ward and surrounding areas. The partnership’s original remit was to regenerate the area using all available funds, a huge task given the area it covers. Recently WEP has been focussing on two areas of work vital to the communities it serves – Health and Employment. As WEP’s Director puts it, ‘The two things are linked, without good health you can’t access decent work and the links between health and a regular decent income are very well understood’. To deliver its aims the partnership is also looking at its structure and how it uses its main assets (two buildings right in the heart of London) to create a dependable income into the future. To find or more about WEP and the work it is doing why not have a look at their newsletter by clicking here. Volunteers needed for WEP Lockdown has been really tough for voluntary organisations who use their buildings to create an income, so WEP are having to think creatively about the future and the two key skills they are looking for from volunteers are property marketing and bid writing. So, if you think you have something to offer in these two areas of expertise why not contact Sharon by email at sharon@westeuston.org.uk |
And last, but by no means least … If you’re thinking about helping a neighbour, friend, or family member for the first time PLEASE take a look at this Good Neighbour Guide, produced by us at Volunteer Centre Camden. It will help you keep everyone safe including yourself.
