We are proud to announce our new service delivery model for Volunteer Management Best Practice which follows the completion of our much valued and appreciated funding support from City Bridge Trust.
Using our professional expertise and applying it to the comprehensive feedback we received from Camden voluntary sector organisations, we have transitioned to our new Best Practice Plus service which is a sustainable model for best practice support in Camden.
Our professional Best Practice expertise, knowledge and easy to use and apply resource bank can be accessed on a not-for-profit chargeable basis with community organisations in Camden with no funding or paid staff able to access it for free.
Volunteer Centre Camden has been supporting the voluntary sector for the past 50 years and in doing so is highly experienced experts in volunteer management and can provide support to you and your organisations as volunteer managers. In a sector with decreasing resources, organisations of all sizes are increasingly requiring support around Best Practice volunteer management:
- Recruiting and retaining volunteers
- Up to date policies and legal considerations
- Dealing with difficult situations (helping to prevent expensive legal costs when things go wrong)
- Health check service – certifying organisations are using best practice methods
There are a number of different ways you can access volunteer management support for you and your organisation, depending on your needs and budget.
Best Practice Plus – Bespoke Consultancy
Volunteer Centre Camden will provide expert tailored Volunteer Management support and advice from our highly skilled staff around specific volunteer management issues you may be having, including issues around; recruitment, retention, challenging situations, increasing capacity, diversity, writing engaging opportunity descriptions, supporting and supervising volunteers, and volunteering and the law. This is a not for-profit service and in order to cover our costs, the fee for this service is:
30 mins – £20
1 hour – £40
Day – £250
We can come to your organisation or you can come to us or we can have a discussion on the phone, Skype or by email/instant messaging system. Building Capacity – Outsource Your Volunteer Recruitment and Coordination
Are you finding it challenging resourcing your volunteer programme? Why not let Volunteer Centre Camden run your volunteer programme for you? We would be based in your offices and would set-up the programme, including all the policies and procedures as well as recruiting, supporting and supervising your volunteers on an interim or ongoing basis. Organisations can benefit when they have gaps in the volunteer management support, maternity cover or establishing a service within the organisation. Our flexible month-to-month tailored service enables organisations to set up or maintain their volunteer management and recruitment.

Workshop & Forum / Networking
Three-hour interactive workshop sessions covering a wide variety of topics related to volunteer management. This is a space to come and meet other volunteer managers, get expert advice from our Best Practice specialists, on a different theme each session. The cost per session will be approximately £54 which includes a light lunch and refreshments. [Workshops and events with a full lunch would be approximately £62 per ticket.]
We will have five free tickets for Camden unfunded groups with no paid members of staff.
Best Practice Health Check Service
Certify your volunteer management service is up to best practice standards. Our volunteer management experts will review your current volunteering programme or support you to set up a new volunteer programme. This will include a comprehensive review of everything volunteer management related, including:
Once completed, you will receive a certificate to show that you follow Best Practice in involving volunteers with in your organisation.
The not-for-profit price for this is £600 and will take up to a maximum of three days.
